Taylor Hicks and JRecords...O Lawd~Free At Last!

Taylor Hicks has given us cause for celebration! His statement confirming his mutually agreed upon split from JRecords has us dancing in the aisles once again. Although he promises more great things in 2008 and asks us to sit tight, that is NOT about to happen! Wherever Taylor is there is excitement and music and good stuff, and it is impossible to sit tight or sit still.

Taylor, we are behind you 110%! Your music gives us Joy and you are the consummate professional as an entertainer. Now you are free to pursue your best shot on a new CD and we are looking forward to the next round of tours.

GO SOULMAN! LET FREEDOM RING!

From Taylor's myspace:
"A statement from Taylor: To all my fans and The Soul Patrol, I want to take a moment to talk about the recent news that my label and I have mutually parted ways. The important thing for all of you to remember is that I've been a working musician my whole life. This is turning the page on a new chapter of my career. Artistic freedom and control is an exciting prospect. The things that are most important to me is creating my art, performing it, and my fans. With the momentum that all of you have created over the years, Taylor Hicks is not going to stop anytime soon. I've started working on the new album, writing and scheduling exciting collaborations. The DVD, Whomp at the Warfield, is in it's final stages, and will be released soon. So as one door closes, a new one opens for 2008 with more excitement for all my fans than ever before. Sit tight, because the best is yet to come!"

Seaons Greetings To All from TMO!

TaylorMadeOnline wishes everyone the MERRIEST of Holidays, whether it be Chanukah, Kwanza, or Christmas...and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

May the coming year be full of Taylor concerts, new CDs, and wonderful experience for the Soul Patrol family. While Taylor is taking his much needed rest, and hopefully working on some great new music for us to enjoy, we can still keep him in our view. The best way to do this for him is to keep ALL his sites active! Keep posting on your home boards and other boards you visit, none of these should die a slow death due to abstinence...lol. Keep encouraging people to buy his CD, vote for him on polls like we are already doing. And make sure to visit TH.HQ for some exclusive perks and communication from the SoulMan himself!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!

DECEMBER

My Contribution to the Holiday Season :)

Twas the night before Hicksmas and all through the house,
All the creatures were dancing, even a mouse.
The CDs were hung from the rafters with care,
In hopes that our SoulMan soon would be there.

The Soul Patrol was snuggled up close in their beds
While visions of Taylor danced through their heads.
And me in my Tshirt and Soul Patrol Cap
Had just settled in for a CD listening snap.

When out on the lawn there arose such commotion
I looked out my window to see a strange motion.
Out the front door I flew like a flash!
But stopped just a moment before the mad dash.

The moon shone bright on the new fallen snow.
And lit up the strange site I saw in its glow.
For what to my wondering eyes did appear?
A guitar, a mouth harp, and a glittering sphere!

I stood very still not daring to breathe,
For fear of disturbing this WEIRD Christmas Eve.
The sphere opened up and out popped a vision,
It was gyrating and singing with nuclear fision.

The silver haired figure sang out through the night
With a voice so pure it made all things right.
Its feet began moving, its body began spinning
And I knew in my heart a Dream was beginning.

More rapid than eagles his choruses they flew.
As he mouth harped and sang and called out his WOO.
To the top of the porch, to the Heavens above!
"Soul Patrol, Soul Patrol, Merry Christmas with Love!"

As dry as a wench with an empty Coors glass
My mouth just dropped open and I fell on my....umm...grass?
I knew in my heart this voice sure AIN'T St. Nicks!
Hell no, y'all...it was TAYLOR HICKS!

November Already!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

I hope your holiday was restful and fun. Mine was tiring, but I enjoyed every minute! We are working hard now to get Taylor's CD sales up...a continuation from Black Friday...I hate that name for a shopping spree. It sounds like The Day The World Ended..lol. Anyway, don't the name stop you from helping us make Taylor's CD a smash. Order one or two from Amazon...donate them to Taylors Angels or KOPS or another charity, stuff them in stockings. We want to get Taylor's sales up and THIS is the BEST Christmas Present we can give him. ALL THE SITES WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN...THAT IS WHAT TEAMWORK IS ALL ABOUT! And hey, this gives us something to spend our money on, since we can't buy tour tickets for a while. :):)

The Tour Has Come To An End...

But our enjoyment of Taylor has not! He is going to be hard at work creating wonderful things for us on his next tour...a new CD, new tour dates, maybe more TV appearances to help publicize all of this. I encourage all Taylor fans to keep requesting his music, keep the various fansites alive, and of course visit TH.HQ. Taylor promises to blog there and keep in touch with his fans.

I have so much enjoyed the various concerts I have been fortunate enough to attend, and am looking forward to more once Taylor has rested and worked his creative artist magic on new songs and old. What has been your favorite concert or venue?

Hey... It's August!

Where have the months gone? I think I've lost them keeping track of our SoulMan's wonderful Tour Journey. How many summer concerts have you all gone to? I am ashamed to admit I have yet to see my first one, since Taylor hasn't come close to Michigan yet. But I am on my way to New York to get my first view of the new Taylor Tour! Drop us a note here and tell us how this new tour is different from the Spring Tour...I'd love to hear :)

Taylor is doing GREAT things right now....a tour, a book, and working on a new CD! His merchguy, Stephen, has asked for input on how to make TH.HQ a better fanclub place, so visit Taylormadeonline to give him input. He's a great guy and he even listens...lol :) Let's work together to make TH.HQ a good place to be now. Don't forget to visit the store there...THE GRAY TEDDYS ARE THERE! Woohoo...LOL...I never thought the highlight of my adult life would be having a Teddy Bear with gray hair, but I'll be damned if I'll be without mine! And after NY, it will have an official siggy, which means the bear will nevah be washed...(wink).

So let us hear from you soon and don't forget your Teddy...lol...the BEAR not the sexy lingerie...get your mind out of the gutter, girls!

Real Men Eat Quiche and Sing The Blues!

The MyFox segment on cooking at Karles was too funny to not be mentioned here. Taylor Hicks proved he is a great sport, has a nutty sense of humor, and is ultra cool all at once. Here is a guy who wrapped it all up and kept a smile and a twinkle throughout...interview..."manly" sport of golf....making and eating quiche! Now THAT is what I call a real man...LOL!

The Taylor Hicks Experience

The Taylor Hicks Experience

I am trying to find words to accurately describe what the title of this blog entry means. It seems an impossible task to capture the SoulMan in words, because to experience Taylor Hicks live is like no other adventure I know of. Let me start with some adjectives:

PASSIONATE
INTENSE
GENUINE
HILARIOUS
FUN
SOULFUL
PROFESSIONAL
GENIUS

Ok now that I have that off my chest, let me try to express what I am feeling after a whirlwind concert series. The opening bands are terrific…..they are into blues and soul…they prepare you, yet when they are through, nothing really prepares the first time concert goer for what they are about to see, hear, and digest. The lighting changes, the Taylor Hicks band enters the stage. Let me say something about this band. I am a diehard LiMBO fan, which is Taylor’s former band. However, this tour band is tightly formed and the more concerts they play, the closer they mesh with their Soulman and each other. Brian Less, the keyboardist from LiMBO and one of Taylor’s good friends, is with this tour and he is amazing! Brian G, the sax player, couldn’t be better, as well as Loren Gold’s keyboard. Drums are fantastic, guitars are great....Melanie’s vocals are mellow…all in all a perfect match for this tour. Yet another testimonial to Taylor's knowledge and talent with music, the unfailing ability to select two bands, each with superb musicial skills and appeal.

Enter Taylor. Music pumps, hearts thump, silver hair glows in the spotlight…the excitement in the theatre is palpable. From the first silver soul note, it is evident you are in the presence of a true musician and professional who has honed his craft for years, and who is at home on stage the way a sleek cat in the jungle is at home in his true habitat. Indeed, this soulcat commands the stage with a curious mix of super confidence and humble vulnerability. He knows his audience….he plays to his audience….and he connects with his audience in a way many performers never do.

The shows are a mixture of CD songs, cover songs, and originals. No two shows are the same, despite the repetition of the CD songs. Taylor mixes it up, changes set lists, managing to deliver the expected and surprise us at the same time. BRILLIANT staging.. The man is everywhere on the stage throughout the show. He is a raging, moving fireball of energy…raspy soul voice, funky dance moves, guitar, harmonica, tambourine, and yes.,,..COWBELL. He sings slow and soulful, he belts out hot and sexy, he is playful and intense, but in the end one word stands out to me. PASSION. The main show, the encores, the facial expressions, the dance moves, the eyes, and the fire….THIS IS THE TAYLOR HICKS EXPERIENCE. DO NOT MISS IT! Gawd, allow me one fangirly moment…WE LOVE YOU TAY!
