Taylor Hicks~More Friends Reminisce

Our Taylor Hicks Early Taylor newest interview is from Clay Connor, who was very sweet to take time from his schedule to help us get yet another view of Taylor in the early days. We thank Clay for his insights and hope everyone will visit his websites. He is an extremely talented musician on his own and with Taylor, and hearing him live is quite the treat! You can find his info and some videos and links to his sites at the end of the interview, in our Early Taylor section on The Taylor Hicks Community Media Board, right here:

Come on over and check out ALL the Early Taylor Hicks interviews and media. It's fun and informative, and a good way to spend some time while we wait for the new CD!

Taylor Hicks~From Birmingham to Grease to Greece!

So we are at a little cafe in Athens, Greece and we ask a couple near us if the food is good. They say yes and ask us where we are from. Then I ask where they are from...I bet you can guess where this is going....

They are from Birmingham, Alabama and know of Taylor Hicks...their son went to high school with him. Of course, I was ChattyPatty with this couple instantly and HIGHLY recommended they go buy Taylor Hicks Early Works. I soooo wish I had one with me, so they could take it back to all their friends and get them to buy also, but I gave them the lowdown. They were so proud of Taylor for his success and for "Grease." It is no that coincidence that this man and his music follows us around the world....he is so incredible at what he does, his artistry, that it's no wonder he is known all over, even internationally in Italy and now Greece. And what Fates led me to this couple? Why the Taylorizers, of course :) So....Taylor Hicks has come from Birmingham, Alabama, to New York in one version of "Grease," and now has found his way through his hometown fans, to yet another Greece...Athens!

What a small world...our Soulman is found everywhere!

Jon is a fantastic guitarist and singer, and has many interesting and insightful comments on his friend. Jon is just a delight to talk to and truly a good buddy of Taylor's. Please join us at TTHC for this continuing series on Early Taylor Hicks, with our newest interview this week....Jon Cook:)

Taylor Hicks ~Early Works Early Impressions

I am truly in love with this new/old CD from Taylor Hicks. I play it all the time in my car, find it soothing and exhilarating at the same time.

I think what strikes me continually, is the absolute passion and genius of the melodies and lyrics that Taylor wrote himself. How many of us can just sit down and put our life and our feelings into songs that good, and then present them to the public ears in such a humble, yet fiercely impacting manner? Taylor Hicks has woven such magic as this.

Early Taylor Hicks is so appearling to me. I first heard Under the Radar, then heard some cuts off In Your Time. This was before Idol, but not that long before. I was hooked the minute I heard the first song and the genuine presentation of the music. I even admit to not being bowled over by the cover photo, but being absolutely floored by the music itself. When I listen to "In Your Time," the song, I find it so pleasing with the different tempos and pieces, which somehow all fit together perfectly.

When I get lost in "Somehow" or "The Fall," I think to myself...THIS IS A FIRST CD and it is so full of passion, soul, full of LIFE. When I hear songs like "My Friend," which is so different and so much fun, and "Hold On To Your Love," with its short comparison lines, or the little trills he does in between, I keep thinking how young Taylor Hicks was when he made this old school blues music, and how much depth there is to this man.

Early Works has these same songs recaptured....remastered better...but has kept the very flavor that was and is Taylor today. I just keep thinking over and over, as I keep listening....how DAMN GOOD and how very gifted Taylor Hicks is. And I am so proud to be a fan of this man and I am so proud that he has come so far. He has waited a long time for this, but never lost his passion for it. When I listen to Early Works, I get choked up to think how much he has accomplshed, and yet how much he is still that Early Taylor who has always been true to the music. Sometimes I just can't put into words what I want to express about this man and his artistry, but it's there...in my heart.

If you haven't heard or previewed Taylor Hicks Early Works...you can do so right here. If this man doesn't grab you to the point of rushing out to buy it, then take a lesson about what BLUES truly is and listen again and again, until your car drives you to Target :)

TAYLOR HICKS ~HIS FORMER BANDMATES AND FRIENDS SPEAK!

TTHC is continuing with our FABULOUS new Early Taylor section, celebrating the early genius of Taylor Hicks. We have interviews with his former bandmates and some of his friends, who still occasionally play with him, as well as photos and media.

Last week, we featured an interview with Quinn Borland of the fantastic band SpoonfulJames, which was really informative and enjoyable!

This week, join us for some special insight from Michael Sheehan, who is a professional photographer and friend of Taylor Hicks. Mike's work appears on the liners of both "Under the Radar" and "Early Works." He believes strongly in copyrights, so please respect that when visiting his site. Mike was happy to help us remember Taylor Hicks in the early days, so hop on over to read his take on our SoulMan.

This is open to the general public to view, but you will need to be a member to comment. Check it out! Taylor Hicks was fabulous early on and the MAGIC continues now!

THE TAYLOR HICKS VERSION OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND :)

WELL WELL WELL....Taylor Hicks has certainly been on everyone's minds this morning, with his version of Supply and Demand. Early Works Supply is somewhat low...DEMAND IS SOMEWHAT HIGH...YIPPEE!

Amazon.com no longer has the Taylor Hicks Early Works CD listed as available. What does this mean? According to a frenzy, some are snarky, some are concerned, and some are elated, but everyone is talking about this CD! From information I was given from several sources, this is apparently due to Amazon's TEMPORARY supply of the pre-order CD selling out. What does this mean, you ask? I know I certainly asked!

Basically it means something quite simple...CD went on pre-sale at Amazon...people bought it...YAY!....and now Amazon needs more. It also means sales on Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, and other sites are increasing by the minute. And you know what this says to me?

TAYLOR HICKS IS HOT! HIS SALES ARE GOOD FOR THE EARLY WORKS CD. THIS IS A GOOD THING, PEOPLE. DON'T FRET, JUST GO BUY IT SOMEWHERE :):)

PS--NEWSFLASH FROM TAYLOR'S CAMP! CD IS COMING OUT AUGUST 12TH! PLUS A NEW ANNOUNCEMENT COMING END OF THIS WEEK.

TAYLOR HICKS~PROPS TO THOSE UNSUNG HEROES WHO HELP!

OK they are not really "unsung" so much, as they do get lots of hits. Taylor Hicks has some MAJOR backing in three very wonderful folks who continually promote him and welcome US, his enthusiastic if somewhat nutty...lol...fanbase. I wanted to take time to dedicate a special THANK YOU to these three guys who love Taylor and help keep him in the public eyes and ears. You can find each of these by just googling their names.

UncleShag at WLSO radio in Atlanta, GA...he has tirelessly played and promoted Taylor Hicks for months and months. He is a truly terrific guy, who seems to love those Bama Boys and their music, and Taylor is a regular feature on his show.

Gregg@Radioio....this is a LARGE internet radio stream, with a guy who not only welcomes Taylor's fans to comment and email him, but plays a ton of Taylor's music, both early and new.

Blues Historian....an amazing site that features video and audio for Taylor Hicks, and commentary to go with it. He has a lot of other blues music, which is also great to listen to, and absolutely supports our SoulMan. He is also playing a lot of Taylor's early music.

I want to say again how much we Taylor Hicks fans appreciate these three people. They are not only helping Taylor, but helping his new CD Early Works, which is a GEM to buy!

SO A BIG, RESOUNDING T H A N K Y O U to these three hard working DJs who love and support Taylor Hicks! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Taylor Hicks~Early Works~Why I Want It :)

TAYLOR HICKS EARLY WORKS PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

NOT that we need any more reasons to enjoy Taylor Hicks music or anything...but... there has been discussion about whether to buy the same songs we might already have on the two other pre_Idol CDs, which indeed are valid questions to ask. I can only speak for myself, but here are my reasons for buying not one, but several:

---Firstly and foremost...to support Taylor Hicks in any way I can.
---They are not that costly and could possibly have remixed sound (I don't know this for a fact, BTW).
---GIVE THEM TO PEOPLE! Many may not be fans yet, but have seen him in "Grease" or at A Capitol Fourth, and would most probably love to get a glimpse of the early genius of Taylor Hicks that has blossomed, yet stayed true, since those first two CDs were done.
---It's a Taylor Hicks Happening! When the next public appearances start, if nothing else, I may be able to have a signed copy of this one too, to keep unopened for my collections, so if you collect also, have at it!
---To have all or most of my favorites on one CD that I don't have to continually swap around in my car CD player :)
---Lastly and foremost...TO SUPPORT TAYLOR HICKS IN ANY WAY I CAN.

THAT'S ALL, FOLKS! AS WE SAY ON THE FANSITES...JMHO.
