TaylorMadeOnline has been around since Taylor's first note on Idol, published January 11, 2006. The past six years have been an absolute Joy to experience, helping promote Taylor Hicks, an artist who is the REAL DEAL and a consumate professional in all ways.

Taylor Hicks has gone from our living room TV winning American Idol to a Broadway Show headliner, numerous TV and radio appearances, and several whirlwind tours that will soon pick up again when his new CD drops this year.

TMO_Media has been with him every step of the way, providing as much video, audio, and photos as possible to his fans, and to Taylor, to re-live again and again. But now it's time for TaylormadeOnline to close up shop as far as new media. With the rich availability of YouTube and Vimeo, plus the new communication arenas of Twitter and Facebook, Taylor has a wealth of support and opportunities for fans new and old to see and hear him. And I have need of more time in my outside life now to pursue my other passion, helping with Animal Rescue :)

Our doors will remain open and there are some threads still open for all to enjoy, both member and nonmember. TMO will still post updates about Taylor Hicks on our Twitter page and occasionally reference older media where appropriate. But no new media will be posted.

It is a bittersweet decision. I have so enjoyed getting to know the fans and helping Taylor Hicks promote his career. And media has always been my first love. However, I am also overjoyed that Taylor is doing so well that so many media sites feature him! He is a Joy to behold on and offstage!

Please keep on supporting this great artist and song writer! I know I will :)

Taylor Hicks~My ORE Experience

So, my friends and I could not wait to get to the Taylor Hicks new restaurant ORE for dinner Friday night and experience what has been named the Best New Restaurant In Birmingham, AL! And we were NOT disappointed!

Let me first say that I had wonderful expectations from all of the descriptions I had read and photos I had seen, but I was still pleasantly surprised to find it even more classy than I anticipated. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, as it's not a large room. For those who have been to The Open Door, you will find much familiar in the physical set up, yet much different in the decor. We sat in the dining room area so we could experience the full treatment before retiring to the bar area.

The wait staff could not have been more friendly and nice, and with a great sense of humor as well! My friend ordered one of their salads and I had the grilled salmon with sweet potato fries and a small salad. The food was superb...cooked and presented in a fresh and artistic manner and done to perfection. The salad was crisp and with a light but tangy dressing which whetted the appetite for more good things to come. My salmon was grilled just right with not too much oil and the chef brought out the full flavor. The sweet potato fries were some of the best I've tasted, again not too greasy and exactly the right texture and taste to the palate.

For my wine, I chose a Sauvignon blanc that was light and very pleasing. Our dessert was also a special treat...a giant chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. They were out of caramel sauce, but it was so moist we didn't even miss that part. Everything was wonderful and came out right on time...not too fast but not such a wait that we minded at all.

The best part of the experience was that Soul Man Taylor Hicks himself came in to greet his guests, stopping at each table to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal and service. He left and said he'd be back.

We took him at his word, which he definitely kept! After picking up our other friend from her late flight in, we returned to ORE for drinks and music. The featured band was Heath Green, who was truly a delight. After the first set, while we relaxed with our refreshments, Mr. Hicks again made an appearance at his fine establishment. Taylor Hicks entered and with him he brought the Magic that follows him everywhere. After socializing with friends and greeting his bar guests, he took his guitar to the stage area and began singing. It was a quiet approach, no announcements of TAYLOR HICKS, just a man in his own element enjoying some beer and singing his music for whoever wanted to listen. And boy, did everyone want to listen! Heath Green joined him for a few songs as well and he is a great musician.

Taylor sang "Where I'm From" or better known as "Alabama State of Mind" and it got me teary eyed to see and hear this great artist sitting in his own new restaurant and doing what he loves best...singing live to any and all. He also sang "Main Street," which I like to imagine was a nod to us Michigan visitors, although probably not really...LOL. Taylor was playful, soulful, and loose this night and we enjoyed this unexpected treat as much or more than any of his shows!

I chose not to use my camera there, because this was Taylor Hicks and his down time, in his comfortable environment, and I would not dream of intruding on that. I was just very grateful to have been able to be a part of this night and happy with the thumbs up he gave us as he came back to the bar after his set.

I cannot think of a more satisfying dinner I've had anywhere else. The food was amazing, the staff courteous and funny, and Taylor Hicks is the perfect host! He literally wined, dined, and entertained us and we love him for it!!

We returned to ORE on Sunday after the Fayette shows for their jazz brunch. The food was outstanding! I had the Eggs Benedict, one friend had the salmon salad, and another friend had the shrimp and grits Diablo. We all cleaned our plates, because it was delicious. Cleve Eaton and his Alabama All Stars serenaded us with their unique style of music and when we finally left, I know I left more than my tip there...I left a piece of my heart in that wonderful place...ORE DRINK AND DINE :)

In Appreciation of July 4th~Taylor Hicks~Others

As I celebrate this weekend watching fireworks, eating good food with loving family and friends, enjoying the freedoms so many times we take for granted, I am struck with the thoughts of those overseas giving their time and love and hearts to allow us to continue to do these wonderful activities in Peace and Safety.

I wonder about their feelinlgs on this weekend and applaud the courage of these men and women who wake up on this grand Holiday with thoughts of how to stay alive, how to get home one day to their own families, and how to get through each day and each hour with your life at risk daily and your best friend is a weapon or the serviceman or woman next to you?

What must it be like for these brave ones who make the enjoyment of our Lives and Freedoms possible? What must it be like for their families who miss them and wonder if the next Fourth of July will bring their beloved sons, daughters, wives, fathers, and friends home alive and well to celebrate?

So on this Holiday, while I am rejoicing in my own Freedom to spend this time with my Loved Ones who are safe and sound at home with me, I will also light a candle in Thanks and to say YOU ARE APPRECIATED AND LOVED AND MISSED to the brave individuals who stand up for our country that I love so much. And thank you to the artists I love who also give of their hearts to help our Armed Forces and to the various organizations who see that our efforts get carried overseas to our wonderful Service Men and Women. May God Bless You All and Bring you Home safely to all of us!

Taylor Hicks~True to Alabama

In a time where too many weather catastrophes have rained down on us, the path of destruction leads everywhere. And most recently, it struck close to home for Taylor Hicks. His beloved state of Alabama and his town of Birmingham was hit hard by the tornadoes last month, as were the surrounding areas. Alabama, along with other states, was devastated by strong storms and tornadoes which left many homeless, debris everywhere, injuries, pets lost, and lives torn apart.

Taylor Hicks was touched greatly by these events, as were many others in his home state. Mr. Hicks is not one to stand by and watch as the suffering continues for all affected. He has taken action with other artists to do his part to help his home. One such event was a free concert in Linn Park last night with his pal, Ruben Studdard, entertaining a huge audience and asking for canned goods to be brought in return for this wonderful night, to help out storm victims. According to all, it was a great night which brought in much help. Taylor and Ruben gave all of their heart and soul to their music and the welfare of Alabama, and its people were never far from their thoughts. But Taylor did not stop with last night. Today he visited Pratt City to try to help out, and has been posting pictures on Twitter of what he is seeing and experiencing, keeping alive the plight of the people affected in hopes to keep drawing help.

And on this Tuesday night, Taylor Hicks once again gives of his time and enormous heart and talent to perform with many other wonderful musicians at the Bama Rising concert at the BJCC, which has sold out its tickets. It is hoped to raise much money to help rebuild Birmingham and surrounding areas, and restore some quality of life to those who lost much or everything in the disaster and the wake of the storms.

Please take Taylor Hicks' efforts as far as they can go! Even if you cannot physically make it to any of the events, you can still donate to Bama Rising or other causes which are helping all of the storm victims everywhere, such as the Red Cross or Birmingham Humane Society who is reuniting lost pets with their grieving families.

Taylor Hicks has a heart as large as the state he loves! Let's follow in his and other artists' footsteps to help out wherever we can too!

Taylor Hicks ~So Musical at Musica~A Recap!

So...I drove 3+ hours in the rain to get to Akron, Ohio. It went fast and the ride was pleasant because it was filled with expectation and excitement. Why, you ask? Why else? I was going to a Taylor Hicks concert again!

I had not been to a Taylor Hicks show since last summer, due to family and travel issues, so this was a special treat. And BOY, was it ever worth it! Musica is situated quite oddly in an alley off a main street. Our hotel was close by but due to weather, we took a taxi to eat at Crave, which was excellent by the way. We then walked over to the entrance to Musica, which was a building with a small doorway entrance through the alley...LOL.

What a surprise once we entered! It appeared to be a converted garage and was just fantastic inside! Classy woody atmosphere with beams and wood built bar. Very nice but small stage and had tables on the floor in front, and then back tables with bar stools and some standing room. Acoustics were great! Venue wasn't full until just before Taylor came on and then it was fully packed!

We chose a table back on the raised part with bar stools and a ledge to rest our things on. This was directly in front of the stage and slightly above the floor, so we had a fantastic view of the entire place and of course, Taylor and his band. The usual introductions took place after the opening act, and then Taylor Hicks entered the stage area.

The rest of the evening just flew by and became a blur and whirl of some of the MOST FANTASTIC performances I've seen from our SoulMan yet! Three standouts for me were:

Maybe You Should, the most tender version ever!

Rough Go Go Ridin, a Van Morrison cover and new addition to the set list.

And the encore song, Ohio which was very well received.

Nineteen also got a huge applause and Jeff played his always poignant sax piece at the end. Taylor did Naked in the Jungle, a song which he hasn't performed for a while and which got the place rockin hard! As I looked around me, I saw a group of young fans who were totally into him and also some new faces from the Akron area. When I spoke to a couple in back of me, the woman shared that they had never seen Taylor Hicks in concert and that this was a 20 yr anniversary present for each other. After the show, I asked how they liked it and they were all but speechless :)

Our SoulMan made Akron's storms small in comparison to the mighty power Taylor Hicks and his fantastic Band raised in the small but well filled venue! If you need a little peek at this wonderful show to inspire you to buy a ticket for a future show, click the video above....and have some tissue handy :)

After the show, people did not want to leave. Taylor signed and took photos, and then the band stayed to hang out with those of us who were still there. All in all, a fabulous evening with Taylor Hicks and his band, and well worth the wet ride up there. I cannot wait for Manistee!

Taylor Hicks~Alabama State of Mind~Tornado Relief

I doubt that anyone who is a Taylor Hicks fan or anyone who reads the news is unaware of the tragedy and extreme conditions as a result of the devastating tornadoes that roared through Tuscaloosa and downtown Birmingham, as well as many surrounding cities in the area. The havoc this caused has affected those who live there and those who know folks who live there, and anyone else living who has a heart.

Speaking of hearts, Taylor Hicks is among many with a heart of Gold! Taylor, along with Nick Saban, and Alabama Red Cross, and abc3340 joined forces with the community to help with a fund raiser to aid Alabama residents in their long and painful Journey to recovery. Taylor manned phones alonside many hard working and caring folks to elicit financial aid for his beloved state.

It is both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see the many, many people from all over the nation willing to lend a hand in some way. Whether it be helping the telethon, helping clear debris and find lost loved ones and pets, or sending in money to aid all of this, we have all come to bat for Alabama and all of the other affected areas.

Taylor Hicks has always called Alabama his home. When the Gulf catastrophe occured, he was right there to help out with a PSA and a benefit concert. This has not changed, especially since this new disaster has come to his Birmingham doorstep. He has stated in an interview with Fox 6 that he will probably be doing a benefit concert to help out even more and will be out in the community, along with the others who so graciously and generously are giving of their time and efforts to help those in need.

You can help too! Please donate online or call the Alabama Red Cross. And please, please don't forget the many pets who are lost, injured, and terrified because they have become separated from their familes and homes. You can give to the Alabama Humane Society who is working with an organization to reunite and foster lost pets.

We thank God for people like Taylor Hicks, Nick Saban, the abc3340 staff, the coaches who donated their time, the businesses, and the many who went out to the debris sites to help. Their hearts are as big as the state they love. Let's keep our hearts open as well....they need our help!

Taylor Hicks ~ Magical May

Well well....Amazing April is upon us and soon will be flying past. After we all enjoy Taylor Hicks in his April performances in Washington and New Orleans, it's not over yet! Not by a long shot!

Magical May follows! It starts with a performance at Panaoply Arts on May 1, with Shametown opening for Taylor Hicks. Panoply is in Huntsville, see link for Shametown music at the end of this entry.

Have you wanted to visit New Orleans but never have? Magical May is as good a time as any! May 5th finds Taylor Hicks and his band at Howlin Wolf for an evening of fabulous music and fun with many other talented artists!

Next up is Hershey Park in their spacious outdoor amphitheatre. This event occurs on May 7 and there will be two shows for just the price of park admission!

Broadway Theatre in NJ, Musica in Akron, OH, and Palace in PA host the next three amazing shows! These will occur on 5-12 for NJ, 5-13 for Akron, and 5-14 for PA. These are sure to please as they are great venues!

Continuing with the Magic are shows at the City Winery in NY on 5-15, Charles Wood Theatre in NY on 5-16, and then Bull Run in Maine on 5-20. Man, Taylor Hicks is one busy guy and we fans so appreciate that fact!

Taylor Hicks~No April Fool!

How do you top some of the most talked about occurrences on April Fool's Day? Well, if you are Taylor Hicks and Stephen Colbert, you connect with Jimmy Fallon and Roots, and give one of the greatest performances on TV EVER! And get yourself talked about, tweeted about, viewed, skewed, cheered and revered!

Last night, Jimmy Fallon had as promised, Stephen Colbert performing Rachel Black's "Friday," with The Roots Band after raising the $26,000 for Charity which was their goal. Much hype was given to this performance and many viewers tuned in, unaware of a surprise guest. The song began, the crowd went wild cheering and laughing. When suddenly, an announcement was made and Taylor Hicks literally burst onto the stage on his knees and blew the roof off the place!

People went crazy...the floor shook, the rafters nearly exploded with this wild, wacky, and magical sound! Add to this a bunch of hot looking cheerleaders, some patriotic balloons falling, and Taylor Hicks' famous harmonica, and you have one of the most enjoyable and fantastic performances ever found on television late night!

Stephen Colbert and Taylor Hicks hammed it up with a capital H and set the crowd on fire both with laughter and applause. There could not be a better way to end the April Fool's Day fun than this! The Roots band did their part as well and it just blew us away.

Twitter lit up like a huge pile of tinder on fire and the tweets are still going with praise for this brave and nutty performance. If you don't believe it, watch the video above and take a stroll over to Twitter and punch in Taylor Hicks or Stephen Colbert or Jimmy Fallon. Your eyes will fall out trying to keep up with the hilarity and pure enjoyment of last night's April Fool's Day craziness. Taylor Hicks was a surprise and stole the stage as he usually does, but the biggest surprise of all is that this video has now gone....V.I.R.A.L. Let's keep it going! Not only does charity benefit greatly from the good hearts of those involved, but Stephen Colbert and Taylor Hicks deserve MAJOR KUDOS for their amazing performance! Thank you, Jimmy, Stephen, and Taylor for all that you do, and Taylor Hicks? WE LOVE YOU!

The old saying "March roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb," only applies to weather. On the music scene, Taylor Hicks proves that March roars in and goes out with a BANG, paving the way for a sizzling April entry!

Taylor Hicks has shows lined up for the next few months and if you are a fan or even thinking about becoming a fan, get yourself to one of these shows! A Taylor Hicks show is a grand and energizing mix of original music by Taylor both past and present, fantastic covers, and pieces of music tagged onto other numbers. There are ballads for your romantic moments and rockin good soul for your upbeat pleasure.

Taylor Hicks~Manistee Pt2~The Three M's!

Just when you thought you'd never shake the winter chill, a new set of Taylor Hicks HAWT shows appears on the horizon! A legend in talk show entertainment is leaving us! The Regis and Kelly Live show has come to an important time of change. Regis announced on the show that he would be retiring sometime this summer. This show has been host to so many great folks, many celebrities who have had a wonderful time visiting and performing on a show so widely enjoyed every morning. Regis, along with Kelly Rippa, made everyone feel welcome and put them at ease with their warm and funny personalities. Taylor Hicks was one of those lucky ones who made several appearances on the show.

Taylor Hicks graced their stage for a variety of occasions. He performed his wonderful new single "What's Right is Right" and also performed with the cast of "Grease," singing "Beauty School Dropout" for fans to enjoy. He also took part in their Dating Game and was a good sport about having his date filmed and aired. And on another great episode, he sang a beautiful and memorable "The Right Place" from his first post Idol CD, Taylor Hicks, at the Wedding of the Century on Regis and Kelly's Wedding Week. The bride and groom requested this song and he moved us all when we watched and heard it.

By all accounts, Taylor Hicks made himself known fondly by the various bands by offering to sit in with many of them and rocking the boat with his soulful and wonderful vocals, which were well received by all on hand.

Taylor Hicks Is "Gran" for Clint Eastwood

This past April, I lost my Dad. He lived to a wonderful age, but sadly most of it without my Mother. But the Gift she left him, which we enjoyed until he passed on, was that he became so much more open to Life and all its Joys. He also had some strong religious convictions which became altered with her leaving us.

The movie "Gran Torino" has become very dear to me since his passing, for the obvious similarities and also because I live so close to where this was filmed and took some rides out that way with my Dad and Mom when I was younger. The song has always had a special place in my heart. But now after my Dad's death, to hear Taylor Hicks put his beautiful and soulful voice to it, has brought it to life for me again in a way that I am finding hard to even describe.

So I will just say....you made the RIGHT CHOICE, Mr. Eastwood! Your exquisite movie and sound track, and Taylor Hicks are a match that has brought me tears and smiles all at once. There is no one else besides you who could have performed this in such a soulful and tender way. So thank you, Clint for the film and for giving Taylor Hicks this honor. And Taylor... for making this beautiful and moving performance available for us...Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

Taylor Hicks~Back To The Future

"Nineteen...He was only Nineteen." Those words and this song touched the hearts of everyone who attended the show in Bay City, Michigan on August 7, 2010. I was one of those lucky people. All around me, people were moved to tears and heavy emotion during the best performance of this song Taylor Hicks has ever given. At the end, he received a heartfelt standing ovation.

For those wondering what Taylor Hicks has been up to lately, the best way to answer that question is to buy a ticket and treat yourself to one of his new tour shows, which now extend into the fall. This is by far the best concert series he has ever done and without question to me, the finest band he's assembled since the Little Memphis Blues Days. Each musician is perfection, and the chemistry and fit between them all is a joy to behold.

Taylor Hicks has gone back to his future...the Taylor Hicks who isn't being invented or fashioned by anyone but himself. His shows are true to his music, true to his style, and totally amazing. Each one gets better and better, each with a special touch designed to fit the venue and his audience. I attended the show in Cleveland, Ohio which was in a small club with an intimate setting. This one was mellow and rocked, but with that close bar feel where you are one with the musicians onstage and boy, did we ever feel that! The day after that was Bay City, Michigan. This was a state fair type atmosphere and truthfully, I wondered when I arrived, how this would play out. Bay City was a study in how an artist grabs an audience. There was only a small crowd for the opening bands because it was early in the evening and dinner time, so many were at the food stands or exhibits. At 7:11, Taylor Hicks and his band took the stage. MAGIC! This was a high energy, upbeat show and the seats suddenly became packed! It was so pleasing to see Taylor up there who kept things upbeat and rocking. Then....Taylor began to talk about the troops and those of us who knew what was coming sat forward a bit. I looked around me and wondered how this slower pace would affect the crowd. As Taylor sang this beautiful song, people began to lean forward, mesmerized. The man next to me was openly wiping his eyes and his wife was patting his shoulder. I felt my own tears graze my cheeks and could not believe the reaction from this audience. People were moved beyond what I'd ever seen at a concert and Taylor Hicks not only brought this audience to tears with his soulful performance, but received a thundering standing ovation. The rest of that brief show blew the roof off the tents there! "Back To Louisiana" was an experience to behold and the people were into it! More impressive was the enormously long line to meet this amazing artist and buy his CD and tshirts, and tell him how fabulous the show was.

Can't say enough about the band! Brian Less, Jeff Lopez, Sam Gunderson, Brandon Peeples, Matt Kimbrell, and Leif Bondarenko have definitely got it going on and are truly one of the best groups of musicians assembled on a stage. So if you have been wondering what Taylor Hicks has been up to lately, GET YOURSELF A LIVE ANSWER! "Grease" is coming to a close tomorrow night. Taylor Hicks, who has filled the Teen Angel role since the summer of 2008 starting with Broadway and ending this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio, will be turning in his Angel Wings for his guitar and harmonica again.

For many fans, "Grease" with Taylor was a fabulously fun experience no matter how many times one saw it. Others are longing for Taylor to return to touring his own music, a wish which seems likely to come true this summer. You can catch Taylor's upcoming shows at various venues, which will be listed on his Taylor Hicks Ning site. Last night, he graced the stage at Wind Creek Casino, judging a singing contest and performing six songs, and from all accounts it was a smash show!

I have seen "Grease" a few times and am heading there tomorrow night for the closing show. I have mixed feelings, being used to the weekly press promos for the play and being able to see Taylor perform not only his role in the play, but his hit single "Seven Mile Breakdown" after the play finale. However, I am also a lover of Taylor's touring shows with his own music and great covers. So for me, it was and is the best of both Taylor worlds. Whatever he does, it is done with grace and style and unique talent.

So....THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, MR. HICKS, for making the theatre stage shine with your sparkling hair, sparking wings, and even more sparkling voice! I am so looking forward to following your next Journey and helping to support that along with your many other fans.

I have not blogged in a while. I have been lately watching Idol Rewind. As I watch each week, I am reminded of the way it was...the intense excitement building as Taylor gave his Heart and Soul each week. He never lost that confidence or pure Joy in performing....never faltered on the steps to his new Journey. And we, his fans, rarely faltered in our support, because we just KNEW...

I am reminded also, of the way we all pulled for him...the beginnings and the reasons WHY we continued and still continue to support and follow this very talented artist. Taylor has traveled very far from home, both physically and musically in his progress and pursuit of his Dream, but done so successfully. He has accomplished so very much and yet kept true to himself. And one thing remains clear and constant, at least to me....this man is a Professional and a gifted Artist. And however and wherever he chooses to make his musical and artistic presence felt...

I AM SO PROUD TO BE A FAN OF THIS MAN!

Taylor Hicks appeared on MyFox Philadelphia today on their Good Day segment. He did a brief interview and performed a fantastic acoustic version of his new hit single,
"Seven Mile Breakdown."

While the performance was a highlight of the appearance, clearly the highlight for Taylor Hicks was that Billie Jean King, who was also on the show, was in the audience clapping along with the song. She was obviously impressed and came forward to shake hands with Taylor after his song. He was thrilled and you could tell, he was a FAN. After the performance, they cut away and then returned to a backstage scene, where Billie Jean signed Taylor's harmonica. This was a FAN MOMENT to cherish for him and for us! He was definitely excited and we weren't sure just WHO was the bigger fan of who....lol. I have included a screencap of that moment backstage, since this part isn't yet on the Fox website archive.

Taylor HIcks~Acoustic Magic in Michigan~

Last night, Taylor Hicks brought his special brand of blue eyed soul to the Detroit area. At The Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI, the heat was not only coming from the weather outside!

Taylor Hicks in an acoustic show is something to behold and something to treasure for a long time to come. He spent the show in a chair with guitar and harp, surrounded by his "home boys," Brian Less on keyboards, John Kulinich on guitar, and Jason Parker on bass, all from the Birmingham area. You could not have asked for a better evening! His music included some early works and his new songs, which featured amazing versions of "Indiscriminate Act of Kindness," and "Maybe You Should," plus the added enjoyment of "Don't Let Me Down," with the fantastic skills of Brian Less. If you are a Brian fan as well as a Taylor fan, then you were very HAPPY last night!

I was lucky enough to attend and stand at the edge of the stage, so was able to hear and see this show quite well. As I looked back on what seemed to be a sellout house, the Joy and Enthusiasm on the faces of those there were evident. Taylor did one encore and truly brought down the roof on The Magic Bag! The venue was excellent....plenty of seating for all who didn't want to stand, and a nice pit which was not crowded. The air was nice and cool, but the atmosphere was HOT and ALIVE with excitement and music that to me, was unequaled by many other Taylor Hicks concerts that I have seen. "Indiscriminate Act of Kindness" gave me chills and Taylor's voice could not have been better on this beautiful song. "Maybe You Should" was also tender and moving. Both songs brought some of us to tears with their intensity and passion.

This was a no video allowed venue and hopefully that will be honored. But photography was allowed and the photos are plentiful and awesome! The crowd was fantastic, receptive, considerate of silence when it was desired and cheering for each number for all they were worth! It was indeed a Bagful of Magic to share this special acoustical evening with an audience full of folks who were there loving Taylor Hicks and the band and the music. It is an experience that I will treasure always.

If you have ANY change to see Taylor and this new band in an acoustic setting, RUN TO THE NEAREST ONE! You will come away bewitched....that's a promise.

Taylor Hicks breezed into Detroit~Motown area on Monday of this week. True to his hard driven work style, he came directly from the airport to a CD signing at Borders Books in Novi, Michigan where he treated fans to not only signing, but photos and some close up and personal chit chat. I was fortunate enough to attend and so much appreciated the care and attention he gave everyone. He went on to open in "Grease" Tuesday at the prestigious and gorgeous Fisher Theatre in downtown Detroit, and then proceeded to hit the media this morning!

WRIF radio station and Fox News Detroit TV both made it a Taylor Hicks morning. The singer of blue eyed soul gave two fantastic acoustic performances of his new hit single, "Seven Mile Breakdown," as well as two very nice interviews. Taylor was his usual charming southern soulman and talked about everything from Idol to his new music to the Red Wings and Hockey Town!

Taylor Hicks~Triple Door Excitement!

If you happened to be in Seattle this week, you would have had the chance to see a unique and energetic concert. Taylor Hicks appeared at the Triple Door and by all accounts, RAWKED the house! Mixing new music with some of his well known earlier CDs, the blue eyed soul singer gave his usual 110% performance, which has thrilled his audiences since the minute he first stepped onto the Idol stage until the present.

Songs in the Taylor Hicks set list included: "The Distance," "What's Right is Right," "I Live On A Battlefield," "Seven Mile Breakdown," and some earlier music..."Gonna Move," and "Heaven Knows/Maze." All in all, it proved to be a wonderful evening for those who were lucky enough to attend.

The wide open scenery, the excitement of the young women getting ready for an outing, the fantastic sequences of Taylor in that red Corvette, and his performance all combine to make this one HELLUVA ride! Wednesdays are proving to be exciting days for Taylor Hicks fans these last few weeks. Last Wednesday, we were treated to a fabulous performance on a return visit to the American Idol Results show and this Wednesday, we get a new video!

Taylor Hicks premieres his new video for his new hit single, "Seven Mile Breakdown" on AOL music. Fans everywhere experienced such pleasure watching his first video by the very talented Jake Davis for "What's Right is Right," and have eagerly awaited a new one. Spence Nicholson has worked his magic with Taylor as well and it has come to us fast!

Taylor Hicks~American Idol Performance Rocked!

Last night, Taylor Hicks returned to the American Idol stage with his best foot forward. He sang a country mix of his new awesome single, "Seven Mile Breakdown," complete with harp! He got a standing ovation from the audience and the judges, even Simon Scowal...lol.

Taylor Hicks ROCKED that AI stage last night. He was perfection in every way and the AI band did him justice without overshadowing his voice. It was real blue eyed soul night on AI and our SoulMan delievered! You can watch this fantastic performance on the embedded video above. This is a great second single release for Taylor and it has also been added to country music stations. There is also a new Taylor Hicks music video on the way for SMB, done by Spence Nicholson.

If you are not getting enough Taylor Hicks lately, then you must be asleep or in a coma :) He has lit up the radio and television stations, as well as continuing to grace the "Grease" stage, in every city he visits and has done some after shows in some areas.

Taylor Hicks is everywhere these days! Last night, he showed up on a segment of Fox Reality Channel's new show Bodyguards. The show chronicles the professional and personal lives of the two bodyguards Carmine and Mikey who work for high profile clients in New York at the various events which they attend. Our SoulMan was a big feature of this first show, reflecting his transportation and arrival to the Broadway Theatre and his attendance at the an evening event later on.

One of the BEST and most touching moments was when Taylor requested Carmine to stop in front of the large billboard featuring Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel in "Grease," so he could get a photo to "send home to his folks." How humble and cute is that?
Of course, there was Carmine's take on this maneuver, that Taylor was surrounded by energetic fans and only one bodyguard to protect him, and that once back in the vehicle, Taylor appeared a bit taken aback by the crowds. I am not sure if this was staging for the show or Taylor really felt that way, because he has encountered this everywhere he goes since winning Idol. But this is a great piece of footage for Taylor Hicks fans and a lot of fun to watch! They will repeat the show, I believe today. TTHC also has a capture of this to watch and keep in our "Grease" member section. I loved watching this and loved when Carmine said "He is hot!" I am pretty sure he didn't mean it like some of us do...LOL...but it is true on many levels. Taylor Hicks is definitely hot property on and offstage these days!

Taylor Hicks graced the San Francisco media viewing area once again yesterday, with a return appearance on View From The Bay. He sang "7 Mile Breakdown," and this time it wasn't with a production or tour band. It was pure Taylor, acoustic and hot!
I have heard this song several times, both from SpoonfulJames and from Taylor, and never thought I'd enjoy it as much the way it was performed on the View From The Bay. However Taylor Hicks, as always, showed his versatility with just a chair, a guitar, and the most beautiful instrument of all....his voice.

There is a STIR on the west coast and it's not an earthquake. Taylor Hicks has arrived and is shaking up the place! Starting with San Diego, moving to LA, and now in San Francisco, Taylor has entertained countless new and present fans in his role as Teen Angel in "Grease" and has added a shadow tour show full of his unique music to each venue city, as well as introducing his new hit single at the close of each play performance.

The Belly Up Tavern in the San Diego area was a fabulous show and many lucky fans got to enjoy this, close up and personal. Taylor also performed at the legendary Roxy, which was an awesome experience! He will be at the Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on April 14th and is scheduled to appear at The Triple Door in Seattle on May 27th.

The west coast press has been courting Taylor Hicks since he arrived. You cannot turn on a radio or TV in the area without an interview or reference to the SoulMan from Alabama, who has captured our hearts in so many ways. Now that cameras are allowed at the shadow tours, you can find media all over from the Roxy. From all accounts, it sounds like Taylor Hicks not only took the "Grease" stage by storm, but completely floored those lucky attendees to the Belly Up show last Wednesday evening! Many fans of all ages crowded the venue to either get a first glimpse at Taylor Hicks in concert or to be there as loyal fans who were stoked to see him in their territory. They were not disappointed.

Taylor Hicks sang his blue eyed soul heart out! He sang, tagged, stomped, harped, and charmed his way into the audience and left them breathless. San Diego gave Taylor a great deal of press before this event and also regarding his "Grease" tour there. This seems to have proven itself invaluable for getting the word out about the Belly Up appearance, as evidenced by the full house and delighted fans. Reports from various groups state this was THE show to see and for those lucky enough to have attended...YEA! Here is a set list:

Taylor Hicks is out in San Diego for his "Grease" performance and a shadow tour show at the Belly Up tonight. He must be a very tired man today, because yesterday he was EVERYWHERE! If you haven't seem the impressive media blitz, then you have a long night's viewing ahead of you. Their media can't seem to get enough of him, with radio interviews, video interviews, and many photos. And Taylor's charm shines through in each and every one...they adore him!

Taylor Hicks~The Distance Nails It!

AOL has removed their listening party page for Taylor Hicks The Distance, but the lyrics and melodies remain with those who have listened. For the most part, reactions have been very positive and for me, rightly so. Barnes and Noble now has samples, not full songs, where fans can listen once again and mull over their choices.

As I remember and re-listen to the snippets, I find myself still drawn to the same songs I first heard. "Maybe You Should" is the Taylor Hicks masterpiece of the CD to me, with its bluesy and gut wrenching sound and words. I can't say enough about how fantastic this song is, especially the production of it. It is quiet and resigned, yet so moving...because of that very tone. "What's Right is Right" remains a true favorite also. The song I cannot get out of my head and which keeps my feet moving is the Latin flavored song, "Once Upon A Lover of Mine." While some feel it is not the favorite on the CD, to me it screams DANCE AND PARTY! I adore Latin music and the beat, and I think Taylor does an awesome job on this particular cut. It is a departure from his usual style, yet it is done with his typical Taylor uniqueness that makes it his own. I am thinking this will be a blast to see and hear at a live show and that he will have a great time performing it. I also am drawn to "I Live On A Battlefield" and "The Distance," which is the title song. Again, the words hit me first and the melodies they are set to are a wonderful pairing.

The light hearted songs, such as "Keepin It Real," and "Wedding Day Blues," are not as addictive to me as the ones above. That being said, I do love them for their pure fun and I am looking forward to listening to these again, to get to know them better. "Woman's Gotta Have It" is without a doubt, the smash soul song of the CD. Elliott Yamin duets with Taylor Hicks and those two voices just BRING IT HOME! This is one of the songs I'd love to see a video of and also to see and hear live. All of the other songs have merit as well, and although "Nineteen" is a painful message to listen to, Taylor's version of this is just amazing.

All in all, I would say if you have not heard this new CD, get on over to Barnes and Nobel and treat yourself to a sample. And on March 10, be sure to purchase several for yourself and friends. This new Taylor Hicks blue eyed soul CD is going to cover and close The Distance in a very pleasing manner.

Tuscon was hot this week and it wasn't just due to the weather. Taylor Hicks is lighting up the stage as Teen Angel, but made a stop at 92.9 The Mountain to appear on their Studio C segment. And what an appearance it was!

Studio C is an intimate look at an artist with interviews and music. This is Taylor Hicks at his acoustic finest...four songs...guitar and harp...and as much blue eyed soul as you can cram into a short time. This was a relaxed Taylor, playful with his audience, tender with the kids and their questions, and dead serious about giving his absolute best to his music. He sang "Bus Back to Birmingham," and then from his new CD, he sang "Seven Mile Breakdown." He followed that with a crowd pleaser, "The Fall," and ended with one of my favorites, "Alabama Frame of Mind."

This mini concert and his candid answers to the small audience, especially the kids, was one of the most enjoyable times to have spent with Taylor Hicks. He is truly remarkable as an artist, yet humble and so genuine that his charm shines through whether speaking or performing. If you were unlucky enough to have missed this amazing performance, do not fear! They are repeating it tonight at 8:30 pm and 11:30pm and tomorrow evening again at 11 pm. This is mountain time, so plan accordingly to where you live. Next week, Taylor's performance will be archived on their website to enjoy again and again. Our weather report here states that it is the coldest winter in Chicago in eight years. But not to worry...Taylor Hicks is in the windy, frozen city this week again, and by all indications is hot enough property there to thaw them out!

It is a Taylor Hicks feast on the local radio and televison stations in Chicago and our singer of blue eyed soul music is well received there. He has made appearances on WGN and CBS, singing and interviewing. He has spoken to Dean Richards on WGN radio for a great interview and spent time with Roe Conn on WLS radio, giving a terrific Q&A and dialog for delighted listeners.

"Grease" tickets are selling like wildfire for the Chicago performances, and the appearance this Saturday night at Martyrs is reportedly nearly sold out. What better testimonty could there be to Taylor Hicks appeal than this? His charm on the stage is evident and that same southern charm comes through in all of his Chicago interviews. Taylor Hicks made an appearance on WGN Chicago yesterday morning and quite thoroughly charmed everyone. He did a brief interview at first and then gave a very different and fantastic performance of his original song, "The Fall." His voice was very smooth, especially for 7 am! He sang with his typical passion and sincerity, which came through loud and clear. As I watched this, I was struck again by the dept of the lyrics and melody of "The Fall," and reminded again that Taylor has a magnificient gift for writing and presenting his music. And again I realized why I love this man's music so very much.

Afterward, Dean from WGN spent some time with Taylor and got a very excellent and interesting interview, inclusive of everything from "Grease" to music to favorite kid TV shows. It was a wonderful morning with Taylor Hicks and very good press for "Grease," which is now being presented at the Auditorium Theatre in downtown Chicago. Thinking back one year to where Taylor Hicks was in January, it is no surprise to find he was standing in front of LARGE audiences entertaining, just like he is now! One of the more memorable appearances was at the Liberty Bowl and Gala party, where he was interviewed on the football field and then shared his charm and talents with the party goers later on.

TAYLOR HICKS~HAPPY 2009!

Wow...it's nearly 2009! This seems to have snuck up on us fast. I find myself checking back to see what I found interesting in 2008 and what I wish for in 2009 that will be new and exciting.

Among the musical treasures for me of 2008 are the Taylor Hicks keepsakes that illustrate the broad spectrum of his talent and his willingness to take a risk with something new. As his 2007 solo tour came to a close and fans were feeling his absence from the stage, Taylor began a new phase in his career. He emerged on the Broadway stage and took it by storm in "Grease" as Teen Angel, and took that even further to a national tour. He also began the long and carefully crafted work on his new CD "The Distance," due out March 10th.

As I reflect on 2008, both in my personal life and in following Taylor Hicks in his pursuit of Dreams even higher than he imagined, I find myself wondering where any of us would be without the support of family and friends? Whether my own life was rich with family experiences or difficult with illnesses, I would try to look for the many ways to enjoy the pleasures in life that were there for the taking. Among these for me is Taylor Hicks music.

Taylor has written about his struggles in his book Heart Full of Soul and spoken about his dedication to his Dream in countless interviews. He has always stressed the support he receives from his family and friends and fan base. Taylor Hicks is among several who have influenced my past year by reminding us that you best move forward and improve your life by your own hands and determination. Staying positive isn't easy in our world lately. However, people like Taylor and others who refuse to give up, are a constant boost to anyone who doubts the possibility of achieving a Dream.

So....here is a fond farewell to 2008 and a big HELLO to 2009! I am going to start my first month of 2009 with many wonderful experiences, and among them is an appearance by Taylor Hicks at a shadow tour show after his "Grease" performance. A new year filled with new music by my favorite singer of blue-eyed soul and the promise of love and support with my family and friends...what could be better? If you have the time and the means this year, please DON'T forget to add those things which give you pleasure to those which you must do, or to those that take precedence over others. That magical time is getting closer and closer! Taylor Hicks and Soulful Christmas...what a combo. For my first present, I took myself and hubby to see "Grease" here in Michigan. What a fabulous evening! Front row seats and a Meet and Greet afterward, even my husband got to meet the SoulMan. This coincides with Stars Fall on Alabama this year.

Taylor Hicks~From Birmingham to Grease to Greece!

So we are at a little cafe in Athens, Greece and we ask a couple near us if the food is good. They say yes and ask us where we are from. Then I ask where they are from...I bet you can guess where this is going....

They are from Birmingham, Alabama and know of Taylor Hicks...their son went to high school with him. Of course, I was ChattyPatty with this couple instantly and HIGHLY recommended they go buy Taylor Hicks Early Works. I soooo wish I had one with me, so they could take it back to all their friends and get them to buy also, but I gave them the lowdown. They were so proud of Taylor for his success and for "Grease." It is no that coincidence that this man and his music follows us around the world....he is so incredible at what he does, his artistry, that it's no wonder he is known all over, even internationally in Italy and now Greece. And what Fates led me to this couple? Why the Taylorizers, of course :) So....Taylor Hicks has come from Birmingham, Alabama, to New York in one version of "Grease," and now has found his way through his hometown fans, to yet another Greece...Athens!

What a small world...our Soulman is found everywhere!

A Taylor Hicks Fan Remembers 9-11

As I woke this morning, I checked outside as I do each morning. The sun was out and it's a beautiful day here. I switched on my CD player to listen to my Taylor Hicks music, and then I checked the time and saw the date...and I knew in my heart, I woke up in a very special place....MY COUNTRY, MY HOME where I could awaken safely to listen to Taylor Hicks music, to go outside into the sun, to enjoy my family all around me, all the pleasures we often take for granted. To this day, when I remember, when I think about Sept 11, my tears fall freely and proudly. My Country is my home and without the brave efforts of so many lives, some lost and some returned, I would not be waking up to enjoy these beautiful treasures of Freedom, in my beautiful free homeland.

GOD BLESS THE USA....GOD BLESS THOSE WHO KEEP IT SAFE...AND GOD BLESS ALL OF US WHO BELIEVE IN OUR COUNTRY ENOUGH TO FIGHT TO KEEP IT OURS!

Taylor Hicks~Friends and Former Bandmates Continue to Speak :)

The Taylor Hicks Community is continuing its celebration of Early Taylor Hicks, with interviews with his friends and former bandmates, who still play with him when they get the chance. So far, we have spoken with Quinn Borland of SpoonfulJames and also, Michael Sheehan, who photographs Taylor so eloquently.

This week, TTHC features a fabulous interview with Jon Cook, long time friend of Taylor Hicks, who is featured prominently on Taylor's pre idol CDs. Jon is a fantastic guitarist and singer, and has many interesting and insightful comments on his friend. Jon is just a delight to talk to and truly a good buddy of Taylor's. Taylor Hicks~Final Curtain Call for "Grease"

Taylor Hicks had his final curtain call last night on Broadway. I am feeling like it's a mixture of nostalgia, relief, and bit of sadness for him, the cast, and his fans. Taylor was really terrific last night, according to all reports, and the cast even attempted to lift him in homage to the many audiences he has thrilled and increased, since his addition to the ensemble cast.

TaylorsAngels has a wonderful interview with Kirsten Wyatt, who plays Frenchie to Taylor Hicks' Teen Ange, which is testament to how much he was loved by the cast and crew. I am quite sure New York, Broadway, the fans, and "Grease" will be missing their resident Soul Angel for many weeks and months to come.

Their loss may be our gain, as Taylor Hicks continues to develop his craft and talent for his one true passion, his music. We will be seeing him down the road onstage and off, doing what he does best...ENTERTAIN AND PLEASE!

Taylor Hicks~Farewell to "Grease"--Hello Future!

Tonight marks the farewell performance of Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel in "Grease." This has been a most successful run for Taylor and he has much to be proud of, along with his God Given talent for producing and delivering musical enjoyment to everyone who attends his appearances. This role has afforded him the opportunity to show his theatre stage presence, as well as his tour stage charm, and has garnered him many new fans as well as pleasing his present fans.

And now, according to various interviews, it's off to bigger and more wonderful Taylor Hicks things! With a new CD in the process, his creative genuis will once again be showcased. As much as Taylor has been in the media lately, with photo shoots of his New York digs, and his dressing room at the Brooks Atkinson theatre, plus the hoardes of adoring fans waiting for him in Meet and Greets or at the stage door, I have a sneaking hunch that what Taylor Hicks is MOST proud of, is his MUSIC, and rightly so. That musical genius, and his passion for it, has always carried him along this business industry and incredible Journey that began so long ago, before many knew of him. The rest of the good stuff is simply the Gravy from this Big Potroast Full of Soul!

Yep, Taylor Hicks, you made us Proud and continue to do that every day!

Congrats on a tremendously successful run on Broadway in "Grease." Looking foward to the next leg of this fabulous and hard earned Journey.

Taylor Hicks Memories at Orange Beach and FloraBama

The Taylor Hicks Community continues with its Take2 lookback at past shows on the anniverary of their concert dates. We started this last year, after the concert series was over and fans were lonesome for their Soulman.

Today we celebrate the anniversary of two terrific venues....Orange Beach, Alabama and the FLORABAMA! The Florabama is a great roadhouse on the boundary of Pensacola and Alabama, and was one of the places Taylor Hicks played in the early days. For this show, he returned to his old haunt and gave fans the time of their lives!

TAYLOR HICKS FANS ~ KEEP PRAYERS FOR THE GULF COAST!

As Taylor Hicks fans celebrate this Labor Day Holiday weekend, let us also say Prayers for our friends and family who are in the path of Hurricane Gustav and possibly Hurricane Hanna. Gustav comes on the very weekend of Katrina, a sad memory and tragedy for so many who are still reeling from her effects, and are now bracing for yet another monster storm. New Orleans is the prime worry, but areas all along the gulf coast are expected to be impacted, INCLUDING THE ALABAMA SHORES, Taylor's home state.

This also brings a memory which, to me, is bittersweet. It was the tragedy three years ago of Katrina, that brought Fate to Taylor Hicks and then brought Taylor Hicks to the adoring public, as he took one of the only flights open to him from New Orleans to Las Vegas and American Idol auditions....and the rest is history, both exciting for his fans, and heartbreaking for all those hit hard by Katrina.

While Taylor Hicks' story is a truly wonderful silver lining in that storm, we cannot ever forget the devastation to the places Katrina hit, again including parts of Alabama. And now as Gustav builds in intensity, possibly to a monster hurricane, let us keep Prayers for all of the places, in the USA and other countries, where it leaves its mark, especially New Orleans. And remember the birthplace and home of Taylor Hicks, along with LA, MISS, and the entire gulf coast...you have our fervent Prayers and Hopes that you are all safe this Holiday weekend.

Taylor Hicks ~Early Works Early Impressions

I am truly in love with this new/old CD from Taylor Hicks. I play it all the time in my car, find it soothing and exhilarating at the same time.

I think what strikes me continually, is the absolute passion and genius of the melodies and lyrics that Taylor wrote himself. How many of us can just sit down and put our life and our feelings into songs that good, and then present them to the public ears in such a humble, yet fiercely impacting manner? Taylor Hicks has woven such magic as this.

Early Taylor Hicks is so appearling to me. I first heard Under the Radar, then heard some cuts off In Your Time. This was before Idol, but not that long before. I was hooked the minute I heard the first song and the genuine presentation of the music. I even admit to not being bowled over by the cover photo, but being absolutely floored by the music itself. When I listen to "In Your Time," the song, I find it so pleasing with the different tempos and pieces, which somehow all fit together perfectly.

When I get lost in "Somehow" or "The Fall," I think to myself...THIS IS A FIRST CD and it is so full of passion, soul, full of LIFE. When I hear songs like "My Friend," which is so different and so much fun, and "Hold On To Your Love," with its short comparison lines, or the little trills he does in between, I keep thinking how young Taylor Hicks was when he made this old school blues music, and how much depth there is to this man.

Early Works has these same songs recaptured....remastered better...but has kept the very flavor that was and is Taylor today. I just keep thinking over and over, as I keep listening....how DAMN GOOD and how very gifted Taylor Hicks is. And I am so proud to be a fan of this man and I am so proud that he has come so far. He has waited a long time for this, but never lost his passion for it. When I listen to Early Works, I get choked up to think how much he has accomplshed, and yet how much he is still that Early Taylor who has always been true to the music. Sometimes I just can't put into words what I want to express about this man and his artistry, but it's there...in my heart.

If you haven't heard or previewed Taylor Hicks Early Works...you can do so right here. If this man doesn't grab you to the point of rushing out to buy it, then take a lesson about what BLUES truly is and listen again and again, until your car drives you to Target :)

Want to hear some Taylor Hicks? Take your pick from all his albums...both early and post Idol. The Taylor Hicks Community has a brand-spankin-new discography area on its main pages, with good length samples of EVERY one of his songs from EVERY one of his CDs. These include: In Your Time, Under The Radar, Taylor Hicks post Idol, and Do I Make You Proud~Flip side "Takin It To The Streets." There is also a special section for the new Early Works CD, dropping at Target Stores exclusively, on August 12th. These are not the remastered tracks yet, but the are the songs selected for the CD.

This is a great way for old and new fans, especially newer fans who now know Taylor Hicks from "Grease," to sample his different CDs and perhaps decide to purchase one or two. Or it's just a great walk down memory lane for some, who are waiting IMPATIENTLY, for Early Works to debut.
